Julian Bream, one of the world’s great classical guitarists and lutenists, passed away a couple of days ago at the age of 87. For an entire generation of music lovers, particularly in England, Bream revealed the rich repertoire of the guitar and lute and was also the leading advocate for new compositions for the guitar. His influence is enormous and will remain so.
